Turning Center Programming, Setup and Operations CD Rom Course

Five hours, fifty-two minutes of presentation on one CD-rom disk!

Turning center CD-rom course

393 page manual, 104 page workbook, 6 hour CD-rom, and CD jacket (answer book not shown)

CNC turning centers are among the most popular types of CNC machine tools. Most companies that have any CNC machines have at least one. Unfortunately, companies are finding it more and more difficult to find and hire qualified CNC people. Many are realizing that they must provide extensive training to new hires and provide at least some continuing training to established employees.

This affordable courseware makes it possible to train CNC people from scratch. While the course assumes the student has some basic machining practice experience, but assumes nothing about their previous CNC skills. Using the proven key concepts approach, the course brings students up to speed gradually ? constantly building upon previously presented information ? and stresses the reasons why things are done as importantly as how they?re done. Six of the ten key concepts are most related to programming, and four are related to setup and operation.

We further divide the key concepts into twenty-eight lessons. Lessons range from under five minutes to just over twenty minutes in length (total course presentation time is five hours fifty-two minutes on one CD-rom).

Twenty Eight Lessons:

  1. Machine configurations
  2. Speeds and feeds
  3. Visualizing program execution
  4. Understanding program zero
  5. Measuring program zero
  6. The two ways to assign program zero
  7. General flow of programming
  8. Introduction to programming words
  9. Preparation for programming
  10. Motion types
  11. Introduction to compensation
  12. Dimensional (wear) offsets
  13. Tool nose radius compensation
  14. Geometry offsets
  15. Introduction to program formatting
  16. The four kinds of program format
  17. Simple canned cycles
  18. Rough turning and boring cycle followed by finishing
  19. More multiple repetitive cycles
  20. Thread programming
  21. Sub programming techniques
  22. Control model differences
  23. Other special features of programming
  24. The control panel
  25. The machine panel
  26. The three modes of operation
  27. The key operation procedures
  28. Program verification

All examples are shown in the format for the most popular control in the industry ? the Fanuc control. Note that many control manufacturers claim to be Fanuc-compatible.

When the full course is purchased, this courseware includes everything your people need to learn CNC turning center programming setup, and operation - and it can be used over and over again to teach others in your company about CNC turning center usage.
